Our Impact

During the past 10 years, Resonate! had worked closely with a significant network of CSOs covering a wide geographical scope in Yemen. It provided its local governorate implementing partners i.e., CSOs and local authorities, both at the district and governorate level, with capacity building and technical support in various topics/areas including but not limited to: Social Accountability, Public Policy, Governance, Advocacy, Project Management/Planning, Strategic Planning, Conflict Resolution, Peacebuilding, Community Needs Assessment, Coordination, and Networking, etc. on the other hand, it worked towards building sustainable policies in Yemen while taking into consideration the input of Yemeni youth as major stakeholders in policy design and implementation bringing the voices and ideas of youth to public policy discourse while supporting youth action on issues of national and international significance.

Who do we target

The primary responsibility for the management of public affairs relies on local authorities and executive offices at the district and governorate levels. Such a group is, therefore, an important beneficiary of Resonate! Yemen programs and activities.
The specific support entails:
Capacity building for local authorities’ personnel on means to establish more responsive tools to define public needs and requirements.
Developing new policies, systems, and procedures to ensure transparency and public participation in local affairs.
 

Local organizations are also an important actor as they complement the role of the government in the delivery of public services or defining any areas of potential grievance or suffering. Being part of the society, they could help to achieve more inclusion and social participation.
The specific support entails:
Building the individual and the institutional capacities of CSOs to participate more effectively in public dialogues regarding development priorities and in ensuring the realization of transparency and community involvement in decision-making processes.
Establishing a conducive environment to support social and community involvement and accountability.
 

The youth are not the only key beneficiary of development efforts but its main asset as well. They are the catalysts and agents for any new sustainable developments. As they formally organize themselves, they require additional skills, capacities, and opportunities. Particular attention is given to female youth, to ensure gender balance in all of the Foundation’s activities.
The specific support entails:
Building capacities of youth for improved community participation in public discourse as well as in leading sustainable development activities and initiatives.
Establishing communication and networking channels to enable youth initiatives to voice their concerns if any, and to engage more effectively with other stakeholders.
 

Community leaders have a major influence on local development. They have a central role in the responsibility of the delivery of public services. They are, in many ways, the key decision-makers on matters that impact social communities. Having the confidence of local communities, they must play an active role in promoting good governance and become role models in following the principles of fairness, equality, and transparency. If not on board, they can severely impede the achievement of sustainable development.
 The specific support entails:
Raising awareness regarding the rights and responsibilities of local communities, and the centrality of the principles of good governance, social accountability, and community participation.
Engaging leaders in youth empowering initiatives and policy and decision-making platforms and processes.
