Community Initiatives and Local Fundraising Guide
This guide is for youth groups who want to start and manage community initiatives and mobilize local resources.
Youth group: A group of young people who share a common interest, goal or cause, and work together to achieve it.
Community initiative: An initiative that is launched, implemented and managed by community members, and aims to address a specific issue or need in that community.
Local resource: Any resource that is available and accessible within the community, such as money, materials, equipment, volunteers, etc.
The guide aims to provide you with practical and useful information, tips, tools, templates, examples and case studies that can help you:
· Identify and gain information about the problem or cause you want to address in your community.
· Conduct a community assessment to understand the situation and context of your issue.
· Lead and engage others in your initiative and mobilize local resources.
· Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate your initiative and its impact and effectiveness.
· Have a lasting impact on your issue or problem, your community and yourself.
